The First Baptist Church of East Greenwich is an American Baptist church. It is a place where people connect with others who have a passion to express and deepen their faith in Jesus Christ. Our worship strives to comfort, encourage, and challenge individuals in their faith. Our music program encourages songs and sounds of praise from people of all ages. We offer Christian Education programs for all. First Baptist is connected to many local, national and international mission organizations and institutions to offer people places to serve in the name of Jesus Christ. We hope to see you here!
At First Baptist our mission is to grow in our relationship with Christ and to spread the Good News of the Gospel throughout the world, starting right here in East Greenwich. We seek to discern and bear witness to God’s presence in the world. Further, we are encouraged to discover and share with others a community of faith that becomes a church family of faith. We believe in soul freedom and know that God is good; all the time. We are members of the American Baptist Churches of Rhode Island and the American Baptist Churches of the USA.
In 2014 we celebrated our 175th anniversary! We have Christian and community events occurring all during each week – plus, Sunday Service and Sunday School. Our ministries include Christian Education, Deacons, Eldercare, Missions, Music, Outreach, Pastoral Resident Program, and Women’s Alliance. Check our calendar to see what’s scheduled.
Regular Sunday Services are at 9:30 am, in-person and live-streamed via Facebook Live and Youtube. Our Church Office is open during the week from 9 am to noon.
